Our memories of embroidery art probably go back to when our beloved grandmas sat down with a cup of tea and worked their magic. That’s in case you’re old enough to have witnessed such a beautiful memory, of course. Embroidery is a unique and personal form of art that you might have thought died out, but when you see Mariam Satour’s work, your minds will be blown.

Satour is a self-taught embroidery artist who started her small business a little bit over a year ago, but has been doing this since the age of 13! And, with these vibrant, modern designs, it’s safe to say that Satour is reviving this form of art.

Aside from the traditional hoop art embroidery, the Cairo-based artist also adds her touch to head accessories like berets, caps, and headbands. Her designs are far from traditional as well; everything screams fresh from the bold colour combinations to the stylish patterns. And the best thing about this is that all designs are hers; she does her own sketches in advance!
